Ashley Madekwe and Ashley Leggat
Madekwe was born in South London, England into a mixed family. Both her parents are both English. She grew up in the south of a London council estate and attended The Brit School at age 14. She graduated with a BA in acting from The Royal Academy of Dramatic Art. During her time at the academy, she performed in several performances on stage, such as King Henry V playing Princess Katherine and Wuthering Heights portraying Catherine Earnshaw.
Madekwe's acting journey began in the series Storm Damage. In the years since Madekwe's appearance in Teachers and Doctors. Madekwe's breakthrough came in 2007's Woody Allen film Cassandra's Dream. It was opposite Colin Farrell (who played the part of Cassandra) as well as Ewan McGrath. The following year she was cast as Elisha (a BBC Three drama-pilot) in West 10 LDN. Ashley Leggat is a Gemini-nominated actor who was raised by an extended family. She was the daughter of Patty and Roy Leggat. Her family included her parents Roy and Patty together with four brothers who were older than them: Brett, Todd and Bram twins, Rob, and Brett. Ashley's family, which is all athletes, play in the summer months and play hockey in the winter months. Ashley never actually walked -she did dance, so at the age of two and a half she started Baby Ballet -and she fell in love. Ashley began to develop a love of dancing shortly after she joined the Baby Ballet. Ashley performed in competitive ballet, jazz and tap at the top divisions. Ashley was awarded the top soloist award at every major dance event, such as International Dance Challenge, Showstoppers 56-7-8 Showtime, Flash Dance, Dance, Dance, Dance among a few.
