Dina Meyer was born and raised in Forest Hills, Queens, New York, but moved to Dix Hills, Long Island shortly before the end of her final year of junior high school. Dina Meyer is the sister of two brothers. Gregory is her older brother and Evan is her younger brother. From the age of nine till 16, she started working in the entertainment business through modeling. Ron Stetson trained her in the methods of acting taught by Sanford Meisner at The Neighborhood Playhouse. The process took approximately three years. Sandra Bullock has received the same training as Jeff Goldblum and Leslie Nielsen. The first time she was cast as an actress was in the soap-opera Beverly Hills, 90210, in which she had to relocate from Los Angeles to Los Angeles. Her debut role was Johnny Mnemonic. She did all of the stunts in the movie, and it helped establish her as an athletic actor. Her agent was Matt LeBlanc, so through her talent agent, she was able to get a regular part on Friends.
