Jessica Ann Simpson Johnson was born on July 10, 1980. (1) She is an American singer, actress and philanthropist. Simpson signed with Columbia Records at the age of 17 after having been a part of church choirs as an infant. Her first studio album, Sweet Kisses (1999), sold two million copies across the United States and saw the commercial popularity of the single "I Want to Love You Forever". Simpson's second studio album Irresistible is a more mature release. Its title track became Simpson's second highest-charting Billboard Hot 100 entry. The Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) certified the album gold. This Skin (2003) was Simpson's third studio album sold three million copies across the United States. In the early years of her professional career, Simpson became known for her relationship with and later marriage to Nick Lachey and Nick Lachey, with whom she appeared on the MTV reality show Newlyweds: Nick and Jessica between 2003 between 2003 and 2005. Simpson made her movie debut in The Dukes of Hazzard (2006) as Daisy Duke after the release of ReJoyce: The Christmas Album (2004). The film's soundtrack also featured her, and she also composed a cover of "These boots are made to Walk" In 2006 she released her fifth studio album A Public Affair and appeared in the romantic comedy film Employee of the Month. With the release of her sixth studio album, Do You Know (2008), Simpson moved to the country genre. In addition to her musical endeavors, Simpson launched The Jessica Simpson Collection in 2005, a fashion focused line with 34 product categories. The company is among the most profitable ever licensed by a celebrity, with over $1 billion in revenues to this point. In 2010, she was a star in the reality show The Price of Beauty. She also judged fashion-related designs during Fashion Star's two seasons from 2012 and 2013. Simpson is married to Eric Johnson with whom she has three kids.
